(Seguin) — Reality TV will soon become real life for three Seguin men. Javier Garza, Danny Carbajal and Chris Carbajal will become stars this week with the debut of TLC’s newest reality show FAMILY ARMOR. The trio, employed at Texas Armoring Corporation (TAC) in San Antonio, will become regular cast members in the television show carefully paired with network favorites such as Street Customs and American Chopper.

TAC is the world’s leader in lightweight armored passenger vehicles making life safer for members of royalty, sports figures, Hollywood stars or for those who simply just need the protection.

Jason Forston, executive vice president of TAC, says without a doubt, ‘FAMILY ARMOR’ will be an amazing piece of television. He says it works on so many angles. While guys will love the cars and explosions, it’s also a clean and entertaining show that the entire family will enjoy. Most importantly he’s excited that the production will include three of Seguin’s own.

“Their work schedule has been changed a little bit with some of the cameras. So Javier Garza, I mean he’s a Seguin local. He’s our production manager, and he does a great job. He’s the guy on the show that you’re going to see cracking the whip and making things happen. Danny Carvajal and his son Chris — Chris strips the vehicles down. Danny is a master electrician and auto trimmer, and Chris is kind of the funny guy in the show. You’ll see some good little bits from him and they definitely bring a lot of life and color to FAMILY ARMOR,” said Forston.

Garza says he admits the show will make going to work a little bit different especially for Seguin counterparts Danny and Chris.

“Chris and Danny are both automotive technicians here so they’ll show their everyday hands on abilities and how they actually build the vehicle,” said Garza.

Forston says landing a spot on TLC came as a big surprise for the San Antonio company. He says the show is being described by industry insiders as “the ultimate guy show” and will offer audiences an entertaining mix of cars, guns and gadgets that would rival any 007 James Bond film.

“A production company called Stiletto Television out of Los Angeles saw us on CNN, and they thought ‘my goodness’ this is an amazing business so they pitched it to TLC. TLC loved it so they came on for the full pilot and that’s what’s going to be airing next week. It’s not going to be like American Chopper or Street Customs — these are great shows. We’ll probably have hopefully a little bit less yelling and a little more work. It will show the process of what we do to a car – how we get it in, we strip it down to its frame, we retrofit it with armor, we put it back together and really all of the dram and relationship that are in between that process is going to be on TV and a little bit with some of our clients that are willing to be on camera as well,” said Forston.

While the show will no doubt focus on the bulletproofing of vehicles, much of its plot will also be drawn from the company’s president Trent Kimball. Kimball who is Forston’s brother-in-law tells the Seguin Daily News that the show will give the world a bird’s-eye view of, not only the business, but also of the family and its faith.

“A lot of people are intrigued by the kind of business in the beginning and we do a lot of new stories that way but I guess CNN picked us back in May or April of this year. But I think also the intrigue was that I’m a father of six children and that fit right in the TLC family TV shows that they have so that’s another thing that they were really excited about,” said Kimball.

FAMILY ARMOR is set to debut immediately following American Chopper at 9 p.m. Thursday on TLC.
